getting it 100% right

You do not have to fully understand all that Dramatica offers. Nor do you have to answer every single question Dramatica asks of your story. The theory is a tool - a springboard for your imagination.

When working with Dramatica we often spend an inordinate amount of time making sure that we get every term and every question 100% right. As if answering all the questions correctly will result in wild success for our writing endeavors.

It’s just not that important.

The problem is that the questions are so instinctually basic to us that we figure we have to get them right if we are to be good sound writers. These things will seep in over time. Don’t worry so much about answering all the questions right away. If you do, you’ll definitely lose sight of what excited you about your story in the first place.

What matters is that it inspires you to write fully. That it helps you to discover new parts of your story that you never knew existed. That it challenges you to be better than you currently are.
